Arbit & OPSWAT offer safe and secure data flow for high security networks

Arbit & OPSWAT have teamed up to offer a secure data flow solution to provide safe and threat-free communication between low security and high security networks as used in critical infrastructure and classified networks.

OPSWAT and Arbit Security have announced their partnership to provide secure and threat-free data flow for high security networks, including Industrial Control Systems (ICS), Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) networks and Government and Military classified networks.

Aspen Institute Research recently reported that 9 out of 10 IT security professionals at 625 critical infrastructure organisations have experienced at least one attack on secure systems in their organisation over the past year. More than 59 percent of these cyber attacks resulted in actual physical damage, underlining the need for increased security measures at critical infrastructure facilities and other high security networks.

Most high security networks are disconnected from the corporate network to increase security (so-called air-gapped networks). However, since this severely hampers productivity, some secure networks are being connected to the Internet, making them more vulnerable to attacks. According to the 2015 Dell Security Annual Threat Report, Finland, the United Kingdom, and the United States experienced more cyber attacks than other countries since their SCADA systems are increasingly connected to the Internet.

To improve productivity while maintaining high security, OPSWAT and Arbit have teamed up to provide a secure and threat-free connection between high and low security networks. The combination of OPSWAT's Metascan multi anti-malware scanning and data sanitisation capabilities along with Arbit's one-way data diode ensures that data entering secure networks is free from known and unknown threats and that no data can leave the secure network. In addition, OPSWAT's portable media scanning kiosk Metadefender can thoroughly scan all portable media files for malware, and securely transfer allowed files into the secure, air-gapped network through Arbits data diode.

Rasmus Borch, Founder and CEO of Arbit Security, said: "We are pleased to partner with OPSWAT to offer this joint solution since it enables critical infrastructure and classified networks to improve productivity while maintaining the highest security standards.

Benny Czarny, CEO of OPSWAT said: "By combining Arbits expertise in unidirectional gateways and OPSWATs robust multi-scanning, data sanitisation, and portable media security technology, customers can benefit from safe, reliable, and threat-free communications in high security networks."
