Linkedin secure after acquisition?

Editorial Type: News     Date: 07-2016    Views: 2754

With the news that Microsoft has acquired LinkedIn in a deal worth US$26.2 billion, the software giant believes the acquisition will expand the market for both company's products

"With this acquisition, where millions of peoples' personal data is involved, users of LinkedIn are naturally going to want to know if their information is safe," said Michael Callahan, vice president, FireMon.

"When two different environments are integrated, the complexity and security implications increase dramatically. To avoid putting the end user at risk from a data breach or other security incident, one would hope Microsoft has an overarching solution in place that can view the IT environments from a holistic perspective.

"This will ensure the safe and secure transition, so that the end user experience remains positive and we don't see these companies making headlines again, but for all the wrong reasons."
