New from OCZ, StoragePro XL is a web-based application that enables the user to easily manage all of the OCZ enterprise-class solid state drives attached to their networked servers and PCs. This is done through a central PC that works with engine software that the users install on hosts throughout their network which have OCZ SSDs they want to manage. StoragePro XL automatically discovers hosts, creating a complete inventory and enabling quick access to individual SSDs. If required, the user can also manually add hosts to the system, granting more control to the system administrator. Among the key features of the tool are:

Centralised maintenance: Remote maintenance of networked SSDs allows users to perform mission-critical actions such as firmware updates, BIOS updates, and secure erase, as well as viewing an audit trail of the SSDs and their hosts.

Centralised management: Within StoragePro XL, the user can view and save reports. These reports detail the remaining life, performance, and alerts of a specific SSD, along with a SMART data snapshot.

Customisable alerts: StoragePro XL allows system administrators to set custom alert thresholds for critical, warning, and informational alert types. Alert settings include Program Fail Count, Reserve Block Count, Raw Read Error Rate, SSD Life Left and many other useful indicators. This can help the system administrator foresee - and proactively respond in advance to - business-critical concerns that may otherwise lead to downtime or loss of data.

Remote access to multiple hosts: StoragePro XL simplifies network administration by allowing the user to connect to multiple hosts across their network. This centralises OCZ solid state drives and their hosts to a single location, bringing ease to routine maintenance and management.

With its simple and intuitive user interface, StoragePro XL displays an organised and sensible view of hosts and the flash resources in the network, providing a simple and easy way to manage and maintain OCZ enterprise solid state drives. Likewise, system management can also be done through the StoragePro XL command line interface. Its robust set of command scripts allows for comprehensive control of OCZ SSDs and their hosts.
