Low-cost managed Virtual Private Cloud service for lighter enterprise workloads

HP has launched its Helion Managed Virtual Private Cloud (VPC) Lean, a managed infrastructure-as-a-service solution that enables higher-quality service delivery and workload performance at a significantly lower cost.

According to HP, the cloud represents a massive generational shift in enterprise computing, one that is impacting companies around the world. This market is large, and business needs are diverse and wide ranging. HP’s new offering supports lighter workloads for mid-sized and enterprise-level businesses such as application development and test environments and workplace collaboration solutions, while also enabling quick onboarding times and the ability to add features on demand.

HP Helion Managed VPC Lean also allows organizations to reap the enterprise benefits of a managed VPC, such as a regionalized cloud for data sovereignty, low latency, compliance, high availability, security and a variety of continuity options, for a lower upfront investment.

"HP already offers a feature-rich industry-leading managed virtual private cloud offering for enterprise customers," said Jim Fanella, vice president, Workload and Cloud, HP Enterprise Services. "The new HP Helion Managed VPC Lean now delivers a lower-priced alternative designed to enable clients to further optimize cloud workloads in the enterprise —while still providing superior, enterprise-class service and performance."

HP Helion Managed VPC Lean offers HP Account Support along with faster OS and application certification for cloud. It also enables additional enterprise services, including HP Management Services, SAP HANA® Management Service and Database-as-a-Service, high-availability compute clustering and virtualization, continuity services, and additional backup and retention options.

The offering is delivered in HP's highly secure, managed cloud computing environment, built to run business applications with high availability.
