Pure Storage has named Google Finance Executive Tim Riitters as their new Chief Financial Operator.

“Pure Storage is bringing incredible innovation to enterprise storage. The company has a winning formula – with best in class technology, a strong corporate culture, an impressive team and a multi-billion dollar market to seize,” said Riitters.

Riitters will lead the company’s financial and accounting operations worldwide. He will report to CEO Scott Dietzen. Riitters joins Pure Storage on August 26 from Google, where he spent 10 years in finance.

“This is yet another milestone in our mission to become the next great storage company,” said CEO Scott Dietzen. “Tim is a world class finance professional who will add incredible experience to the business, further round out our management team, and continue to position Pure for its next stage of accelerated growth and ultimate long term independence. A seasoned advisor with a track record of leading global organisations through hyper-growth, Tim’s expertise at managing and maximising revenue opportunities, identifying business risks and ensuring financial accountability will greatly benefit Pure. As our business reaches new levels of maturity, our financial processes must remain both sturdy and squeaky clean, so that we may without fail continue aggressively pioneering the all-flash future for enterprise storage.”

At Google, Riitters was responsible for overseeing the company-wide annual planning and budgeting processes. Additionally, he led the finance team responsible for predicting revenue trends and increasing revenue opportunities.
