HP has released its sixth annual 'Cyber Risk Report'

HP has released its sixth annual 'Cyber Risk Report', with the main findings including the following:

• 44% of known breaches came from vulnerabilities that are 2-4 years old
• Server misconfigurations were the number one vulnerability
• Additional avenues of attack were introduced via Internet of Things (IoT) devices, with an increase in the level of mobile malware detected
• The primary causes of commonly exploited software vulnerabilities are defects, bugs and logic flaws.

Along with the Cyber Risk Report, HP has also released its latest 'Internet of Things Report', which found that the most common and easily addressable security issues reported include:

• Insufficient authorisation
• Insecure interfaces
• Privacy concerns
• Lack of encryption.
